Imagery To be used for the record sleeves/ labels & CD art.

After the crit, and in response to some good blog comments I have recieved, I have decided to use imagery within my artworks for the product range, as apposed to block colour, I can still develop this direction, but because I am printing on thursday, and have a broader range of opinions which say the photography works well, I want to pursue it and put some greater time into it.

The idea behind the imagery of trees/ roots and bark/ wood textures was that I wanted to visually represent the fact that Alius records encourages roots music on its label to promote original artists. The textural quality of the images is working really well in its initial developmental stages, the only hiccup I am having is that legibility of thinner type can be lost when put on lighter areas of the images. I will have to be selective with what images I use in terms of their quality, but also the proportion of light/ dark space within the image. The journal below has within it a selection of the best images taken over two days based on my idea. These need further narrowing down to 3 images.
