Prototypes for the crit

Here are the prototypes for my proposed range of physical products - A website and myspace page still need to be produced, but I wanted to nail the print work before applying the same design to digital work. I have done two different colour schemes: A duotoned image and block colour with reverse out type. I also produced 7" Stickers and 12" stickers as well as two possible 7" record sleeves with the same colour uniformity applied to them. I produced everything in this way because that is my two possible design directions - The 5 questions I have will also direct feedback into this. This should help me pick and choose from the two directions and create something which is more effective that both as they stand.

I've already been pinpointing some problems with the design of these bits and bats, Im going to post up a more in depth post about this when I have a scanner at my disposal but here are a few tweaks that I need to make:

  • Copyright information on the record sleeve needs to be underneath the logo along with the contact information.
  • The type under the Alius logo needs aligning and the space between lines needs distributing more evenly.
  • The leading can afford to be closer, by about .5.
I will talk about this in more detail in the next design development post.

  1. I know I saw this at the crit, btu I really like the photography, gives your company values that visual link to what you put across in your rationale. The block colours look good, but they are not as innovative as the photography - screams old school which is exactly what you were going for! I think anyway! I will bring that vinyl in for ya as well mate, cant wait to see these in physical form
